South Georgia showdowns headline the action in Week 7 of the Georgia high school football season.
Region 1-6A’s four top-10 teams will face off Friday night, along with several other South Georgia powerhouses. Other local rivalries across the state will help shape key region battles before we roll into October.

Hebron Christian's home region opener against East Jackson isn't just a showdown between two of the best records in Region 8-2A.
It's also a showdown between two of the top five performers from last Friday night.
And to sweeten the pot, they'll be on the field at the same time. East Jackson quarterback Drew Richardson and Hebron Christian defensive back Max Steve are both coming off stellar performances.
Richardson led the Eagles to a 52-38 win at East Hall with 269 yards passing, 213 yards rushing and six total touchdowns. Steve led Hebron Christian to a 22-17 upset of Blessed Trinity with 20 total tackles, two interceptions and two pass breakups.

Here are the AJC's top 10 games of the week.

Central-Carrollton kicked a game-winning 46-yard field goal with 11 seconds left to beat Jonesboro 24-21, according to @NwGaFootball on X.
The Lions scored 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to improve to 6-0. Central is also 2-0 in its region and took a strong step towards a third straight region title tonight.
Jonesboro and Central-Carrollton’s running backs are leading a back-and-forth brawl into the fourth quarter.
Jacez Walton, the younger brother of AJC Super 11 selection and Central senior Jonaz Walton, just tied the game at 21. Jacez scored his second touchdown of the day on an RPO.
Jonesboro’s AJC Super 11 selection, DB/WR Jontavius Wyman, briefly took a 21-14 lead on an explosive touchdown catch.

Creekside continued to flex its offensive muscles with a 69-0 beatdown of M.L.K. on Thursday night.
The Seminoles are 6-0, averaging 57.5 points per game. That included a 70-20 upset of DeSoto from Texas earlier this season.
Creekside had a 55-0 lead by halftime.
Jonesboro has tied it up in its region showdown against Central-Carrollton.
Senior running back Lucious Murray scored his second touchdown for 14 unanswered points, tying the game for Jonesboro.
The game is tied at 14 midway through the third quarter.
Central-Carrollton appears to be well on its way to a 6-0 record with an explosive start against Jonesboro.
The Lions scored their second touchdown on a tricky play action pass.
Jacez Walton, the younger brother of AJC Super 11 running back Jonaz Walton, scored the first touchdown.
South Georgia will host the state's top four games this week.
Many of South Georgia's top-ranked teams will battle each other for the inside track to region championships and better playoff seeding.
The top two games are both in the loaded Region 1-6A. All four teams are ranked in the AJC-GHSF Daily's Class 6A top 10.
