Kicker Parker Romo signed with the Falcons for their practice squad Tuesday, the team announced.

Outside linebacker Ronnie Perkins was released from the practice squad.

Coach Raheem Morris said the Falcons would hold tryouts and bring in competition for kicker Younghoe Koo, who missed a 44-yard field-goal attempt that would have tied the score in the 23-20 loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Romo, 28, is from Peachtree City and played at McIntosh High. He played in college at Central Arkansas, Tulsa and Virginia Tech.

He played in four NFL games for the Vikings last season and made 11 of 12 field-goal attempts, with a long of 55 yards.
