Power will shift in several key Georgia high school football regions in Week 8.

Showdowns like McEachern-Harrison, North Gwinnett-Peachtree Ridge, Buford-Collins Hill and Cartersville-Cass could all end up being region champion deciders. Several South Georgia powerhouses will also battle after a massive Week 7 slate.

Sprayberry walks off Creekview with two-point conversion in OT

Sprayberry, a 10-point road favorite over Creekview, delivered a heartbreaking loss to the Grizzlies in overtime. 

Sprayberry and Creekview traded blows throughout the first four quarters and into overtime. Grizzly running back running back Carson Lott put the the pressure on the Yellow Jackets with a rushing touchdown to start overtime. 

Sprayberry answered with a score of their own before senior quarterback Jayden Duckett powered through Creekview's defensive front for the game-winning score.

Stockbridge tops Ola with fourth quarter touchdown

Stockbridge separated itself from Ola in a low-scoring affair with a touchdown with 11 minutes left in a 19-13 win. The Tigers and Mustangs were tied at 13-13 entering the final quarter.

Stockbridge and Ola both share second place in the nine-team Region 2-4A. Locust Grove leads the region with a 5-1 record.

McEachern pulling away from Harrison in fourth quarter

McEachern has reportedly scored three unanswered touchdowns as it tries to bury Harrison in the fourth quarter. The Indians lead the Hoyas 41-21 in the fourth quarter, according to the Marietta Daily Journal.

Calvin Pittman Jr.'s second rushing touchdown of the night was quickly followed by running back Ty Nolan. The beefy back muscled his way through Harrison's defensive front for a two-score lead.

Carrollton explodes in middle quarters for dominant 48-9 win at Westlake

Carrollton and Westlake were tied at 6-6 before the Trojans showed why they're nationally-ranked.

Carrollton outscored Westlake 35-3 in the middle two quarters to win 48-9 and take a share of first place in Region 2-6A.

Marietta walks off Walton in double-overtime

Another key region battle in the metro-Atlanta area came down to extra football. Marietta beat Walton 41-38 in double overtime to take a share of first place in Region 5-6A. 

Marietta and North Cobb are the only undefeated teams left in the region. They're scheduled to face off on Oct. 10.

McEachern QB rips off another long TD run for third quarter lead

Calvin Pittman Jr. scored McEachern's first touchdown on a zone read option, and Harrison didn't seem to learn its lesson. 

Pittman Jr. ripped off an even longer score on a similar play call, scoring from 43 yards out to take a 28-21 lead deep into the third quarter.

Worth County pulls of 20-point comeback win over Thomasville

Worth County trailed 34-14 before forcing overtime and walking off Thomasville with a game-sealing interception. 

The Rams had 19 minutes of game action to come back from the 20-point deficit. Worth County actually had a chance to take the lead after scoring a game-tying touchdown off a tipped pass but missed the extra point.

The Rams struck first on a rushing touchdown from Kaden Chester, taking a 41-34 lead. Thomasville hit back with a touchdown of its own but could not convert a two-point conversion as Chance Sims' interception sealed the comeback win.

Kell defense stars in 3-0 win over Blessed Trinity

End zones were optional and ignored in Kell's 3-0 win over Blessed Trinity. 

The Longhorns sealed the win thanks to a tip drill interception from Jalen Williams with less than two minutes remaining. 

Kell moved to 1-0 in region play with the win. Blessed Trinity suffered its third loss of the season and its second in three weeks.

Hapeville Charter walks off Holy Innocents' in overtime

Holy Innocents' was in complete control defensively until the fourth quarter, when Hapeville Charter scored 14 unanswered points to force overtime. 

Hapeville Charter conceded a field goal before walking the game off with pure physicality as a quarterback sneak scored the final touchdown.

Region 1-6A contorts with Colquitt County's win at Valdosta

The same Valdosta team that looked unstoppable in last week's beatdown of Camden County fell 18-17 to Colquitt County Friday night, according to Shane Thomas of the Valdosta Daily Times. 

The Wildcats were driving and had picked up several first downs before Colquitt County recovered a Tyrieke Wade fumble with less than a minute remaining. 

The Packers, who bounced back from a 31-14 loss at Lowndes last week, took the lead for good with the second half's only touchdown. Ja'mari Stokes scored the go-ahead touchdown from 13 yards out to take an 18-14 advantage in the third quarter. 

Valdosta also missed a potential go-ahead go-ahead field goal earlier in the fourth quarter. The kick bounced off the left upright from 36 yards out.

Lowndes and Richmond Hill are the only remaining undefeated team in Region 1-6A. Valdosta and Colquitt County are both 1-1 in region play.
