A shooting that critically injured a 15-year-old at a South Fulton apartment complex might have started as a robbery, police Wednesday.

A day after the violent incident, the search continued for a suspect. South Fulton police spokesperson Tori Cooper said officers were called to the 4900 block of Delano Road around 6:25 p.m. Tuesday. The area is just west of I-285 near the intersection of South Fulton Parkway and Roosevelt Highway.

At the scene, officials found the teenager suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a hospital.

“At this time investigators believe the suspect was attempting to rob the victim prior to the shooting,” Cooper said Wednesday morning.

The teen’s name was not released.

Investigators remained at the scene late Tuesday, according to Cooper.
