FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons wide receiver Drake London, who missed the team’s past four games with a knee injury, was limited in his return to practice Wednesday, according to the team official injury report.
London was at practice during open portion in the afternoon. He did not speak to the media during the open locker room period.
“He’s one of the best players on our football team,” Falcons’ quarterback Kirk Cousins said. “So, you want him out there. You know, you all have seen what all he can do for us, the difference that he makes. We’re a better football team with him out there.”
London has 60 receptions and leads the team in yards receiving with 810 and six touchdown catches.
“We’d love to have him,” Cousins said. “We’ll see which direction it goes as the week goes.”
Pitts honored: Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts was named the NFC offensive player of the week Wednesday. Pitts caught 11 of his 12 targets for a career-high 166 yards and three touchdowns in the 29-28 win over the Bucs on Thursday night.
Pitts also became the fourth tight end of all-time, and the first since 1996, to have at least 10 receptions, 150 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns in a game, joining Shannon Sharpe (1996), Kellen Winslow (1983) and Todd Christensen (1983).
This was the first player of the week for Pitts and the first time a Falcons tight end has earned the honor since Alge Crumpler in 2006 (Week 7).
Injury report: Cornerback Mike Hughes suffered an ankle sprain against the Bucs and will miss the game Sunday at the Cardinals.
Morris reiterated that inside linebacker Troy Andersen (knee) would miss the entire season.
Also, defensive tackle Zach Harrison (knee) and outside linebacker Bralen Trice (knee) were not given a designation to return and will miss the rest of the season.
“He’ll be shut down,” Morris said of Harrison. “Yeah, so I look forward to (seeing) him next year as well. … I look forward to getting all those guys back. We’ve got some significant guys out. We’re looking forward to getting contributors (moving) forward. That’s no doubt.”
Running back Bijan Robinson (illness) and cornerback Dee Alford (illness) fully participated in practice.
Hughes, wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge (shoulder), quarterback Easton Stick (not injury related) and outside linebacker Leonard Floyd (illness).
