The Braves announced Friday the cancellation of their Braves Fest fan event scheduled for Truist Park on Friday and Saturday.

The team stated a concern for “the safety of our fan” amid the forecast for winter storm activity throughout the Southeast this weekend as their reason for canceling the annual event.

The Braves reported that more than 76,000 fans had claimed a free ticket for the event.

The event was to have included, among other things, interactions with Braves players and coaches, live entertainment, autograph sessions, photo stations and player and front-office Q&A sessions.
