Georgia Tech linebacker Tah’j Butler has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal, according to On3.

Butler (6-foot-1, 230 pounds) played in all 26 of Tech’s game over the past two seasons after arriving on campus as a 3-star recruit, according to the 247Sports Composite, out of Edna Karr High School in New Orleans. Butler had 34 tackles in 2025 (three for a loss), broke up three passes and made an interception against Georgia on Nov. 28 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

As a freshman in 2024, Butler recorded 25 tackles.

Butler joins tight end Luke Harpring; centers Harrison Moore and Tana Alo-Tupuola; offensive linemen Peyton Joseph and Ben Galloway; wide receivers Jamauri Brice, Isiah Canion, Zion Taylor and Bailey Stockton; defensive backs Christian Pritchett and D.J. Moore; quarterback Aaron Philo; and linebacker Melvin Jordan IV as players who have announced their intentions to transfer.
