MACON — Sixteen Georgia high school basketball teams will be crowned state champions over the next four days at the Macon Coliseum.
Several programs are shooting for their first state title, while others aim to further establish themselves as statewide powerhouses.

Wheeler's star-studded lineup proved to be too much for Pebblebrook in the fourth quarter. The Wildcats pulled away for a 62-52 win over the Falcons, completing the defense of their 2025 state championship.

Wheeler maintained a seven-point grip on the lead over Pebblebrook through the third quarter.
The Wildcats had four more turnovers than the Falcons in the quarter, but Pebblebrook shot just 6 of 13 from the floor. Wheeler made more of the opportunities it gave itself, shooting 6 of 8.
The Falcons are starting to find footing inside, though — they score 12 of their 14 third quarter points in the paint. The other two were free throws.
Wheeler appears to be rolling on its way to defending its 2025 state championship. The Wildcats lead Pebblebrook 31-23 at halftime.
Both teams are shooting 48% from the field, but Wheeler is 4-of-11 shooting from 3-point range, while Pebblebrook is 1 of 9 from beyond the arc.

North Paulding coach Wes Willis answered questions on the emotions of winning the program’s first state title and what a buzzer-beating full-court 3-pointer did for his team.
Grayson, which had trailed North Paulding by double digits for much of the second half, cut its deficit to four points with 1:21 remaining.
The Rams couldn't complete the comeback, though, and North Paulding sealed its first girls basketball state championship by a 62-58 count.

Kalee Hinkson ended an explosive North Paulding third quarter with an unbelievable shot.
Hinkson drained a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from her own 3-point line. The nearly-full-court shot gave the Wolfpack a 52-40 lead over Grayson going into the final eight minutes.
North Paulding is trying to win its first basketball championship.
North Paulding appeared to find its footing more in the second quarter, cutting its deficit to 28-25 by halftime.
The Wolfpack outscored the Rams 7-2 in the last 90 seconds to close in on the lead.
