Mike Jordan is senior lifestyle reporter at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and previously launched The AJC's Black culture brand, UATL as senior editor in 2023. A longtime culture journalist, his work has been frequently published in The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, National Geographic, ProPublica, Rolling Stone, Southern Living, Atlanta magazine and Thrillist, where he launched the Atlanta edition in 2008 as its founding editor. Jordan is also a cofounder of community journalism organization Canopy Atlanta, and serves as chairperson of the Atlanta Press Club’s board of directors. He is the 2024 winner of the James Beard Foundation’s Jonathan Gold Local Voice Award, for which he was a finalist in 2023, and serves as U.S. South academy chair for North America's 50 Best Restaurants.
