Lanes have fully reopened on I-20 East after a tractor-trailer crash caused major delays at the top of Monday’s morning commute into Atlanta.
The collision happened just before 5:30 a.m. at Fulton Industrial Boulevard, or Exit 49, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. Police had blocked off the interstate entrance ramp at that location, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

Lanes started reopening around 7 a.m., but one lane had remained blocked as crews cleaned up a substance that spilled during the crash. All lanes opened by 8:30 a.m.
Traffic jams were so bad at one point there were at least 8 miles of backups.
Officials have not said what caused the wreck, if any other vehicles are involved or if any injuries have been reported.
