From visual arts to music to theater, the metro Atlanta area has an active arts scene offering something for nearly everyone. “Steel Magnolias”

Reel Art

“Generation Error”

Oakhurst Jazz Nights
Now in its 22nd year, this week’s picnic-style concert series installment features a performance by Gwen Hughes, who melds fresh takes on jazz, soul and pop favorites plus eclectic original songs.

Illumine
This annual event transforms Oakland Cemetery with art installations and dramatic lighting by Atlanta artists including Vanna Black, Marcia R. Cohen, Jordan Graves, Christina Kwan, Eddie Farr, Daniel Phelps, Vayne, Fabian Williams as well as the Neon Company, Atlanta Downtown’s MAP Rover public art projection program on wheels and the late photographer Ralph Eugene Meatyard.

“Ascension Oratorio”
The Atlanta Baroque Orchestra’s Metamorphosis series continues with Bach’s “Ascension Oratorio” and his Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor. For this series finale, the orchestra is joined by tenor Thomas Cooley and the Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church Chancel Choir directed by Michael Dauterman.
